Tom Serena earned his Bachelor of Accounting and masters in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh. He joined AGA in 1994 to help the organization establish central administration staffed with its own employees, ending the support it received from a professional services company. He has held a variety of positions culminating in the chief executive officer role. In 2010, Mr. Serena was appointed co-executive vice president along with the then-general counsel. Since June 1, 2015, he has served as the sole executive responsible as the liaison between the governing board, staff, corporate partners, government agencies and other stakeholders.
