Dr. Sandeep Gupta is a board-certified pediatric gastroenterologist with long-standing interests in Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Diseases (EGIDs). He attended medical school at the University of Ibadan College of Medicine in Ibadan, Nigeria. He completed his pediatrics residency at University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, Connecticut and then went on to a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Northwestern University followed by a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology/hepatology/nutrition at Indiana University/James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. He is board certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology/Hepatology/Nutrition.
Dr. Gupta was at Riley Hospital for Children/Indiana University in Indianapolis from 1993 to late 2016. He was at the University of Illinois College of Medicine from 2016 to early 2020 when he returned back to Indiana as Medical Director for Research at Community Health Network and Attending Faculty at Indiana University School of Medicine. His clinical interests are esophageal diseases including eosinophilic esophagitis and gastroesophageal reflux, nutrition, obesity, and pediatric endoscopy. His hobbies include: historical travel, yoga, running and spending time with his family. Along with his family he enjoys empowering others and promoting healthy eating and living practices in children.
