Katherine Hanley started her education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, obtaining a Bachelor’s of Science with a major in Kinesiology. She then completed a Master’s of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. She started her career as a PA in hospital medicine and subsequently transitioned to Gastroenterology. In her role as a Physician Assistant in GI, she works within the subspecialty of Interventional Gastroenterology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. In addition to her clinical role, she is the Lead Advance Practice Provider for the Digestive Health Center, representing APPs within GI medicine and GI surgery. She is proud to support APP leadership at Northwestern, Central Region, and serves as the PA co-chair for the APP leadership committee. She is focused on the development of the lead APP role within other departments and has a vested interest in defining metrics to support APP clinical practice.
