Dr. Patrick Okolo is currently leading multidisciplinary teams that have a focus on building an ecosystem of patient-centered care across diverse population strata. The ecosystems encompass the domains of need-driven patient care, health education, and the training of fire leaders in Gastroenterology.

He has clinical interests in all aspects of therapeutic Endoscopy, para-bariatric syndromes, lesions resection, and tissue closure.

He received his degrees in Medicine and Surgery with distinction from the College of Medicine at the University of Nigeria and then interned at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital. Dr Okolo then trained in clinical genetics and Internal Medicine at Indiana University Medical Centre in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dr.Okolo completed his training in gastroenterology/ hepatology at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Following his fellowship, he undertook and completed advanced training in therapeutic Endoscopy also at Johns Hopkins. He is an M.P.H. graduate of the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins. After faculty positions at Penn State College of Medicine and Northwestern University, he joined the faculty at Johns Hopkins. He is a highly regarded speaker, scientific reviewer and teacher with foci on his areas of clinical expertise, novel approaches to clinical problems, and issues of quality and economic management of Endoscopy units.
