Wendy Henderson PhD, MSN, CRNP, FAAN

Dr. Henderson became a tenured Professor at the University of Connecticut in 2020 She has over 20 years of experience in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition. She obtained her PhD (2007) from the University of Pittsburgh, where she was also a Clinical and Translational Science Institute Fellow. After postdoctoral training at NIH was appointed Assistant Clinical Investigator (2009) and Digestive Disorders Lab Chief 2011-2019. She founded an NIH Clinical and Translational Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. Henderson has received NIH Awards for Innovation, Leadership and commitment to Diversity. Her science focuses on Brain-Gut-Liver-Microbiota Axis and chronic effects of stress on intestinal health across the lifespan. She is an inventor on multiple patents and licensed technologies.
