Katie
Garman, MD, MHS is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Duke
University in the GI Division and in Duke's Molecular Physiology
Institute. She serves as Vice Chief of Research in the
GI Division, and she is co-lead for Duke Cancer Institute's Cancer Risk,
Detection, and Interception (CRDI) Program. She is a fellow of the
American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and a graduate of the AGA
Future Leader's Program. Her interest in ergonomics emerged after
attending the AGA Women's Leadership conference and she served on the
AGA's Ergonomics Task Force. While Katie spends most of her time as
basic and translational researcher, she is also an endoscopist and an
advocate for injury prevention in gastroenterologists.
